Världskulturmuseet

Today’s Världskulturmuseet in Gothenburg was opened in 2004. Since the merger in 1999, it has been one of four sub-museums of the Swedish National Museums for World Culture. The collections of the Världskulturmuseet comprise more than 100,000 objects, the second largest ethnographic collection in Sweden after the Etnografiska Museet. The holdings from South America are very extensive . In addition to important collections of feather work from the Amazon region, the museum houses extensive archaeological holdings from the coastal regions of western South America.
