Götaplatsen

The Götaplatsen is one of the most important public squares in Gothenburg at the southern end of the Kungsportsavenyn . It was inaugurated in 1923 on the occasion of the celebrations for the city’s 300th anniversary. The cultural center of Gothenburg is located around the Götaplatsen: These include the concert hall , the art museum, the art hall, the city theater and the library. In the center of the square is the eight meter high bronze figure and the fountain of the sea god Poseidon, which were created by Carl Milles.
