Mozartplatz

Mozartplatz is a representative rectangular square in the old town of the city of Salzburg, which was created according to plan by the demolition of various town houses under Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau in 1588. The representative main traffic axis from west to east ran across the square from the university square to the old market and the Residenzplatz, which gained additional importance with the construction of the Sigmund store. In 1620, Paris Lodron left the building plots in the east of the square to the cathedral architect Santino Solari, but the plots in the north to the High Prince Council of Friedrich von Rehlingen. Haus Mozartplatz 1 is the New Residence, which now houses the Salzburg Museum.
